The works include earthworks and pavement together with R.C box culverts, pipe culverts, high retaining walls, reinforced soil walls, storm water drainage, water supply, lighting, and all relevant finishing works such as rip-rap, ditch lining, curbstone, sidewalks, traffic signs, traffic paint, guard rails, and concrete road barriers. The work also included the relocation of many services such as telecommunication cables and poles, water supply, electricity cables, and masts.

The Project is situated in Wadi Araba Area to the south of the Dead Sea. The site comprises the dam, its appurtenant structures and facilities. The works include construction of a impervious embankment with reinforced concrete crust and lining protection and its associated structures such as flip bucket, deep cut off walls, draw off works including steel pipelines and valve chambers. The works also include performance monitoring instrumentation system, ground investigation, grouting works, a farm with an administration building, steel structures barns for sheep and camels, roads, sidewalks, irrigation system and other related works.

The works comprise the construction, completion and maintenance of Infrastructure works for the Master plan of King Abdallah Ben Abdel Aziz City in Zarka-Jordan.

The main works that were carried out under this contract include the following:-

  • Construction of 5 km – 4 Lane carriageway with all associated Earthworks and Pavement together with Curbstones, Medians, Sidewalks, Traffic Signs, Traffic Paint etc…

  • Construction of about 6.5 km of D.I. Pipes and HDPE Pipes for Main Water Supply and Fire Networks.

  • Construction of about 7.5 km of Sewer Trunk Lines and Sewer Networks of D.I. and R.C. Pipes up to 600mm diameter with all relevant Works of Manholes, Riprap and Gabions.

  • Construction of 1 km of Ø1500mm Pipe Culvert and its related works.

  • Construction of about 2 km of double cell box culvert.

  • R.C. Retaining Walls up to 7 m high and 2.5 km long.

  • Storm Water Network 1 km long of different R.C. Pipes diameters together with all relevant Manholes Catch Basins etc …

  • Removal and Relocation of Utilities Obstructions.

  • Telecommunications and Electrical Networks with all associated works.

  • Five Electrical Substations.

  • Street Lighting Works.

  • Landscape area of about 32,000 m2 with all associated works such as fountains, flower boxes, walkways, gardens etc …

SHU’ULEH INTERSECTION AT KING ABDULLAH BIN ABDEL AZIZ CITY

The project consisted of the following:

  • The construction of a post-tensioned bridge (Flyover) consisting of 16 spans connecting Khaw Highway with Al-Jaish street with a total length of 385 m, a total of 128 girders, 900 m of its associated wing walls, fifteen piers and two abutments.

  • Construction of roundabout beneath the bridge with 3- lanes and 85 m diameter which links to the four approaches of the intersection and the service roads.

  • The construction of a railway underpass beneath the roundabout witha width of15 m and height of 9 m to accommodate the new lowered level of the existing railway and the future Two-Light Rail system between Amman and Zarqa cities,complete with earthworks pavement layers, ballast and underground pumping chamber.

  • The total covered length of the under pass is 260 m and the total approach length is 1,160 m length with a total length of 1,300 m of High retaining walls up to 12 m high.

  • Construction of all 4-Lanes carriageways and service roads connecting the project with the nearby existing roads with a total length of 4.9 Km.

  • Construction of 4-Lane detour with a total length of 1.7 Km including Earthworks, topping, sub base, binder and wearing courses together with signs, road paint, NJ barriers, three Traffic Lights, curb stones, pipe culverts, etc…

  • Construction and removal of railway detour with a total length of 1,100 m with all earthworks, sub base, base, ballast layers and ditches.

  • Removal of all water supply networks and reconstruct new DIP water supply networks of diameters 700, 400, 300 mm together with all associated valves, chambers etc…

  • Relocation of all other utilities such as high and medium tension electrical cables, electrical substations, medium voltage poles, street lighting poles, telecommunication lines, sewage lines of 800 mm RCP diameter with the necessary deep manholes.

  • Construction of storm water drainage network.

  • Construction of all miscellaneous related works such as road signs, curb stones, traffic paint, road markers, NJ barriers, steel pedestrian fences and barriers, street bumps, sidewalks, street lightening and high masts.

  • Milling, rehabilitation, repair and resurfacing of the Al-Jaish road connecting to the project with a total length of 2.5 km.

The scope of works included: renovation and rehabilitation of an existing building to meet the security requirements and functionality of an Embassy while creating a sleek and unique design. The Free Standing Wall erected on the building's facade and was re-designed as precast panels which were cast at an offsite facility and transported to the project location, which were then erected and fixed in place in record time.
